Craft & Hobby Association Conference & Show

We got back last night from the Winter CHA Conference and Show. This was our first time to this trade only event, which is for retailers and designers. It was filled with energy! Crafters, artists and designers everywhere! There was a full slate of demonstrations, workshops and lectures. Plus, most of the companies at the show had on-site "make & take" classes to help attendees learn their products. The place was full of ideas, inspiration and talent.
DREAM might well be the theme of this show!
We found some great new additions for Vintages, many of which will be shipped very soon ... so keep in touch. Our favorite product, which was also chosen as the Show's Most Innovative Product, is Lesley Riley’s TAP™ Transfer Artist Paper. In Lesley's words: Transfer your imagination into art with TAP, a premium-quality transfer paper that allows you to transfer images to virtually any surface with the heat of an iron. Have more fun with fabric, paper, wood, glass, metal, and more! It truly is great and we are excited to offer this to all of you creative people out there.
Transfer Art Papers
Samples of art transferred onto thin paper, art board, ribbon,
as well as tissue paper, fabric and canvas.
Another great find were these postcard tags and turn-of-the-century ladies on paper tags. These are printed right here in the good old USA!

La Blanche's photographic quality rubber stamps are another superb new product that you will love. Add some color and you, too, can be an artist!
We ordered a number of products from Canvas Home Basics, including burlap hearts, chalkboard papers and  mini-clothespins.

Here are some of the other craft and artist products we will be getting in the near future.
A whimsical collection of colorful brads
These terrific twines in a bunch of delightful colors
Pewter stickers
With inspiring displays at every corner, I photographed a few of them for you.

Graphic45 had some outstanding projects done by their own designers. Many of these incorporated new products with vintage finds ... kind of like what you can do with the mixture of contemporary and vintage items found at Vintages.

One display theme that was used a lot was decorated dress forms.

We had a good time and hope we picked out products that will stir your creative juices.

  1. OH, your trip to CHA sounds fabulous! Did you know that Lesley was one of the instructors at An Artful Journey here last year? So thrilled that you like her product--it's amazing, and so is she. Will come by soon!

  2. Hi Cindy. Lesley's TAP is really a great product - it can help bring out the "artist" in us. Looks like your upcoming Journey is nearly sold out - GREAT! See you soon.
