Micro-Book Guest Register for Craig Carter Miniatures

I found this tiny book. It is really tiny ... 1 inch by 15/16 inch! That qualifies as a "micro-book" in my mind! It is titled: Guest Book - Craig Carter Miniatures. It notes: This volume from March, 1960.

The entries are dated from 1960 to 1975. Here is a gallery of the micro-book and some of its contents.

If anyone knows more information about this Craig Carter and his miniatures, please let me know.

WW1 Photo in Terrific Folk Art Frame Soldiers at Hummel Montauban 1915

Fantastic Folk Art Frame with WWI photograph of German soldiers at "Skat Club Hummel Montauban 1914-1915". This handcrafted folk art wooden frame is wonderfully hand painted with four different panels. The two sides have soldiers in full dress. The bottom panel is a fairly detailed village scene. The top has a banner that reads: 1914 Errinnerungan Montauban 1915

There is a paper label on the back that reads: Verdun-Meuse Offensive October 1918 - Hun Soldiers.

The photo appears to be of German soldiers in 1915 that were captured in the Verdun Offensive. The derogatory term of Hun for the Germans indicates they were captured in the Verdun Offensive.

The frame measures about 9" x 11". Priced at $250 online and in our Los Gatos shop.

Bright and Beautiful Fabric Paints and Markers

This is a new line of French water-based fabric paints that are absolutely the only one you will want to use! Perfect for decorating tote bags, clothing, tablecloths, aprons, pillows, drapes, book covers, as well as mixed-media art, scrapbooking, and more.

These paints and markers can be used on all pre-washed fabrics: cotton, wool, mesh, jersey, velvet, jacquard knit, polyester, mixed fibers and even leather. They can be used on solid surfaces as well, but do require a heat set for permanency.

Ready to use, sparkling and intense, they can be used pure or diluted with water to obtain watercolor effects. Their rich texture is suitable for various decorating techniques and can be applied with a brush, dropper, stamp, silkscreen or stencils. You can also do hand painting and sun painting as well. The paints work great with our Art Foamies stamps.

Setacolor paints and markers have a range of concentrated heat-fixed colors for decorating fabrics. They are particularly vivid and bright, and can be used to paint, stain or print on natural or synthetic fibers. After fixing with an iron (or oven or heat-gun), they are perfectly resistant to washing and dry cleaning and the fabric retains all of its suppleness. Try it on ribbons or lace ... you will love the effect.

Great for kids and teens to have fun creating their own wearable artwork!

The paints come in two types … light in transparent or translucent, glitter and fluorescent colors … and opaque in regular, shimmer and pearlescent colors. The markers come in transparent and opaque colors and three tips (1mm, 2mm and 4mm).

While we were learning about this line of colors, we spent some time with artist Karla Leopold, who did some wonderful mixed media samples shown below.
